for a limited time only - some of my favorite 80s music
yep. Kelly inspired me with her comments. I'm adding a few 80s tunes. Any requests? I'll add up to 10. And I started with "Borderline". I think that's my favorite by Madonna. Which leads me to ask, "What's your favorite hit by Madonna?" (And don't forget to make a request...preferably something more obscure, but that we'd all know and think, YEAH, I loved that one and totally forgot about it until this very moment!!! no pressure.)

I don't know if this is the title but "Rain" ya know..."RAAIIINN...feeling it on my fingertips, hear it on the window pain...your loves comin down like..RAAAIIINNN." I really love the tight harmony in that song. I LOVED her 70s throw back song she did for the 2nd Austin Powers.."Beautfiful Stranger." And although critics have said "it sounds like elephants dancing" I LOVE her song out now with Timbaland and Timberlake, "Four Minutes." I must like elephants. That's it...Sarah..on Madonna.
I'm having trouble thinking of songs while listening to your blog play other songs. Competing auditory stimuli is difficult for me. :-)
The other day I had "Papa Don't Preach" in my head.
I know there are a million 80s songs in my brain, taking up space that I should be using for other things. I'll visit the archives.
Anything by Howard Jones or Tears for Fears would be good to hear.
Madonna? How about "This Used to be My Playground"....
I'm officially "lost in the 80's"!
I will take on anyone when it comes to 80's lyrics. Best Madonna song (my reformed hands are having a hard time typing that line) - would be either Open Your Heart, Express Yourself or (strike a pose!) Vogue! Hard to pick though.
"Crazy for you", my pre-tween years all star favorite
You have no idea what this post did to me! I'm not even telling you how late I was up last night (this morning?) listening to songs from the 80's. There are too many good ones to choose from. Man, now I'm going to have to create my own 80's music playlist. But on another night, perhaps.
Here are the songs that I came across that I had totally forgotten about:
Tarzan Boy, Mr. Roboto, Holding Out For A Hero, Never Ending Story, The Greatest American Hero, Goody Two Shoes
But when I think of music from the 80's I always think of the synthesizer drum beat of Always Something There To Remind Me.
Good times...
I like Madonna's Holiday, but it's a tough call. Also, FYI: '80s nostalgia is happening Off-Broadway too! Rock of Ages is a new Off-Broadway musical starting October 1st. It has music by Bon Jovi, White Snake, Styx, and more.
You can get $26.50 tickets here: http://www.rockofagesmusical.com/rockfan/
Totally rad!
who are you, Rock of Ages? c'mon! reveal your metal-head self!! or not. i can deal with mystery.
