confession # 12 - I've been botching lyrics to songs as long as I've been singing.

The latest song added to the playlist is Jimmy Soul's "If You Want to Be Happy".
Always thought it was,

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life,
Better make a pretty woman your wife...

Boy, did I have that wrong! Very common occurrence for me.

The worst is when I botch hymns and find myself singing heresy. I just hope the people in front of me don't hear. I know the Lord has an automatic "Jenna-speak to Good Theology" translator...right???

Haha, thanks for your comment. That wig cracked me up quite a few times...and I'm talking about full-on, laugh-out-loud cracking up, you know, like while I'm sitting by myself on the couch reviewing the pictures.

Whew. I should probably go check 'em out again.

P.S. I'm totally enjoying your blog too ;).

I thought it was what you thought until just now-I have seriously hated that song because of it!! Thanks for enlightening me.

I am so confused. I thought that was the lyric. If it isn't that, then what is it?

Here's my Doxology:
"Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above THE (instead of "YE") Heavenly hosts..."

I sang it wrong in front of the VanderMaas' and Chris told me later. That was 7 years ago and it still embarrasses me!

Sitting here...quickly switched to your blog to see if you posted today...forgot I had my speaker volume on HIGH...and "Africa" by Toto started. I LOVE THIS SONG!! Whoohoo...turning it UP!!!

Corene sings the Doxology like Lori.

Other Jenny botchings:

In the 80's "Like a version"

Also back then somewhere "She wore and itsy-bitsy-teeny-weenie-yellow-polka-dotted-KINI."

I feel compelled to mention that I had NO idea what a version or a kini was.

My friend Clara used to think "More than a Woman" was "Four Headed Woman"!! And, we all thought it was..."All we are is testing the wind" instead of "Dust in the Wind"
I'll think of more! I have some doozies! :) Love ya!
