stop, stare, flirt????

It makes me livid. That "stop, stare, flirt" ad that comes up on my window every time I check my hotmail account. I have no control over this as far as I know. So, I'm forced to see these moving, flashing--and now add AUDIO--ads while I check my email. I feel like a victim. I'm going to change email. I'm thinking Gmail is the way to go. Do you have any advice?? I'm desperate. I don't care if I know you, just please tell me which free email I can use that doesn't advertise for dating services or interest-only loans using some ridiculously bad dancer popping and crumping all the way to the bank.

I've been to busy to blog. (Who isn't?) But, this is an emergency. I need help!!!!

Oh, Jenna, I know just the ad you are talking about. Yuck! I wish I could have a solution as well.. infuriating, really. You can avoid TV junk but not when you are simply going to check your email.

Dad-I love you. Thanks for leaving a comment. It says a lot to a generation Y blogger for you to comment. It almost speaks as loudly as paying for my four years of private Christian college. You're the best!!!

Shari-Thanks for grumbling with me!

Sarah-You are a good crumper. I was taking issue with the bad crumpers. (Yes. You make me laugh OUT LOUD.)

Gmail is the way to go. It takes a bit to get used to the "conversation" style of the inbox, but after awhile, you'll learn to love it. And you can search all email for any key words, etc. so you can always find what you're looking for. I LOVE gmail... and no ads to ignore.

If you use Firefox, you can download an add-on like Flashblock.

I use this and am almost never attacked by ads.

The disadvantage is that you have to click through to see any Flash at all.

I'd recommend it whether you switch to gmail or not.

Gmail is great. They do give a one line text ad at the very top, but it is so easy to ignore I never notice it at all. I usually don't check it on the web, though, I have it feed into my computer's inbox and that is really nice.

If you have outlook or something like that (I can't remember what it's called on my mac), you can set up your free email to flow into your inbox and skip all ads altogether.

$0.02 from someone you don't know.

The VERY best option is just to use Outlook or another similar program. Takes a little work setting up (I for instance don't have a clue how my husband set ours up!), but it's well worth it. You can keep your current hotmail account but access all your email without opening a web browser and seeing all the junk. Gmail is a pretty good idea, too.

I just stumbled upon your blog today but felt compelled to comment because this is an issue near and dear to my heart. Guard what comes into your home with everything you've got!

I love the crumpers but the original chick was the best!
I agree on gmail but still use my yahoo the most.

You don't have to have "the talk" about where the realtionship is going. No, I'm really a man in a woman's body so I don't have talks about relationships.
