homemade gifts

A new commenter asked (half-joking) if anyone had any good homemade gift ideas. It's a great question. I'm curious. What the best homemade gift you've ever received? Or...ever given?

Or...if you can leave the comment discreetly...what's the worst homemade gift you've received?

I'll start with something wonderful from Allison! She's sent me so many great homemade things (such as my first nursing cover up!), but, these take the cake. She embroidered these buttons and told me to slap them on some flip flops. So great. I've worn these out pretty much. But the best part? They are secured with velcro! I can just transfer my beloved buttons to another pair of flip flops next summer! Brilliant!

Velcro! What an awesome idea.. they are super cute.
I'm noticing that you are up as late as I am tonite.. I'm just pretending I won't be waking in a mere 6 hours.

I'm speechless. Allison is brilliant. That is such cool gift. Honestly, I think if that was all I got for Christmas, I'd be sooo happy. How can I hook up with this Allison?

Love that gift, Jenna! Cool toenails, too!

My mom and mother-in-law are the queens of homemade gifts, and I love each and every one they so lovingly make: mittens, quilts, sweaters and vests for the kids, the list goes on....

Key-yewt.

I love a homemade gift although I can't think of a ton that I've received right now, (tap, tap, tap...hmmm).

My little sis gave me a scarf she knitted, a few years ago. I love it. Wear it all the time.

the worst homemade gift i received was chocolate covered marshmellows. i love chocolate and marshmellows, but not together. oh, and fruit cake--it almost seems oxymoronic to me.

I haven't received very many homemade gifts. I guess one of my favorites were the Christmas sweatshirts my grandma used to make. You know, the ones you iron a picture to a plain sweatshirt and after a few washes it looks pretty vintage, but vintage wasn't cool then.

Also, the big debate has been which way to face the buttons....facing you or the people you are talking with. I agree with your choice.

Very cute......I wear flip flops in the winter also....I have furry flip flops for yoga. Cuz when you go to yoga, even in the winter, you don't want to have to unlace and lace up shoes or wear socks....you want to slip'em off quick and get in pigeon pose. Then after class, you want to slip'em back on quick and get to the little girlz room to pee (or the big girlz room, if ya are a big girl). How politically uncorrect is "little girlz room"....there are girlz of all sizes....that has got to offend some.
